“You in the business?” He asked.
“Yes,” I said, “I’m a writer.” Which wasn’t exactly true but was aspirationally accurate.
He looked at me bitterly.
“Let me tell you something. The business stinks,” he spat out. “I wrote 62 Mr. Ed’s,” he said. “Sixty-two! And I can’t get a meeting.”
