Time Travel Is Dangerous review: sci-fi comedyOn Avenue Mews in the leafy North London suburb of Muswell Hill, long-term friends Ruth (Ruth Syratt) and Megan (Megan Stevenson) run Cha Cha Cha together from rented premises. There they sell vintage goods – “anything we can get our hands on that’s from the past”, as Ruth puts it. They do not, however, sell the old dodgem car – with flashing lights and lo-fi control boards attached – which they find abandoned by the bins outside their shop, but instead, upon discovering that it is a time machine, use it to gather genuine antiques from different places and eras. ???? It's a British film and apparently very British humor. Teasers out for this movie on YouTube, Moviephone, and Starburst Magazine but not in the US. Released in UK October 28, 2024 (Austin film festival) Photo credit: https://www.scifinow.co.uk/reviews/time-travel-is-dangerous-review/
Space mining company identifies asteroid target for launch
Space mining company identifies asteroid target for launchA U.S. asteroid-mining company has announced the target space rock for its upcoming test mission. California-based AstroForge has identified asteroid 2022 OB5 as the destination for its Mission 2 spacecraft, named Odin, which is set to launch next month, SpaceNews reports. The Odin spacecraft will be flying as a secondary payload aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, which will send Intuitive Machines' IM-2 lander toward the moon. Odin will separate shortly after the Falcon 9 upper stage fires its engines to head for the moon. The launch window for the mission opens no earlier than Feb. 26. Asteroid prospecting company AstroForge, California based, has been awarded the first-ever commercial license for operating and communicating with a spacecraft in deep space, ahead of its Odin mission that's set to launch and rendezvous with a near-Earth asteroid in early 2025.
